The Focusing Waves Induced by Bragg Resonance with V-Shaped Undulating Bottom

چکیده

Intensive wave reflection occurs when the wavelengths of incident waves and bottom undulations are in a 2:1 ratio. Existing studies have included Bragg resonance phenomenon passing over continuous undulating parallel to oblique shoreline. More generally, mechanism is used as means coastal protection, rather than power generation. To focus energy specific area, here, we propose sinusoidal sandbars horizontal V-shaped pattern, which formed by two bottoms inclined at an angle each other center axis perpendicular Based on high-order spectral (HOS) numerical model, both characteristics induced regular random investigated. In scenario waves, it shows that wave-focusing effect related bottom, optimal inclination for 162.24°. On basis, considering interactions between 162.24°, studied. The BFI factor combining steepness spectrum width can evaluate focusing intensity waves. For BFI, range 0.15–1.0, values Hsmax/Hs0 linearly increase with BFI.

Resistance to Flow in a V-Shaped Bottom Channel

Water flow in open channels is always subject to the resistance to flow and energy dissipation. For design purposes, one of the needed variables is the hydraulic resistance coefficient. For this mean, the influence of cross-sectional shape together with secondary flow cells and lateral distribution of true boundary shear stress have not yet been fully explored. This paper surveys the number of ...

Local and Global Friction Factor in a Channel with V-Shaped Bottom

This paper presents an experimental research on the distribution of local friction factor, fb, and global friction factor, f, over the cross-section of a channel with V-shaped bottom, which typically occurs in sewers and culverts. Several series of experiments were conducted for measuring velocity and boundary shear stress. It is found that, Darcy-Weisbach, f, is more sensitive than other resis...

Undulating Strings and Gauge Theory Waves

We study some dynamical aspects of the correspondence between strings in AdS space and external heavy quarks in N = 4 SYM. Specifically, by examining waves propagating on such strings, we make some plausible (and some surprising) inferences about the time-dependent fields produced by oscillating quarks in the stronglycoupled gauge theory. We point out a puzzle regarding energy conservation in t...

Water waves generated by a moving bottom

Tsunamis are often generated by a moving sea bottom. This paper deals with the case where the tsunami source is an earthquake. The linearized water-wave equations are solved analytically for various sea bottom motions. Numerical results based on the analytical solutions are shown for the free-surface profiles, the horizontal and vertical velocities as well as the bottom pressure.

Sharp-focusing Bragg-Fresnel zone plate with Laue diffraction geometry.

The impact of decreased zone height on the focal properties of hard X-ray Bragg-Fresnel zone plates has been studied by numerical simulation. Decreased zone height allows for smaller zone widths and, although the efficiency of the lens is decreased, the signal-to-background ratio in the focal plane of the lens remains at a comparatively high level. This is distinct from an analogous case of ord...
